At the heart of Big D Vacuum Cleaner Centers today is Nathan Madison, the owner and driving force behind the continued legacy of honest service, expert repairs, and customer-first care in Carrollton and the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
From Student Technician to Business Owner
Nathan’s journey with Big D Vacuum Cleaner Centers began in 2010 when he joined the company as a student at Newman Smith High School through a co-op program.
Starting as a repair technician and sales representative, he quickly developed a deep interest in the technical side of vacuum systems as well as the importance of honest, customer-focused service.
What began as a learning opportunity soon became a long-term passion.
Built Through Experience and Mentorship
Over the course of 16 years, Nathan worked closely under the mentorship of founder Tony Pennington, learning every aspect of the business:
- Precision vacuum diagnostics and repairs
- Customer service built on honesty and clarity
- Matching customers with the right machine for their needs
- Understanding long-term reliability over short-term sales
This hands-on experience shaped not only Nathan’s technical skills, but also his business philosophy.
Carrying Forward a 1977 Legacy
When Tony retired after nearly 50 years of service, he made a deliberate decision to pass the business on to someone who shared the same values that built it from the beginning.
Nathan was chosen to carry that legacy forward.
Today, as the owner of Big D Vacuum Cleaner Centers, Nathan continues to operate the business with the same foundation it was built on:

Nathan is not a corporate operator or outside investor—he is a lifelong member of the North Texas community.
He is a husband, father, and hands-on business owner who works directly with customers and stands behind every service performed in the shop.
